In the currently airing TVB series The Building Blocks Of Life , Tavia Yeung (楊怡) plays an architect, who is always working with designs and rulers, but in real life, she is more at home with a pair of knitting needles and wool.
Taking part in a Christmas event yesterday at Sunshine City Plaza, Tavia joined Julia Hopson, who is the current world record holder for the knitting with largest pair of knitting needles, in a demonstration and tried the gigantic needles for herself. The huge needles are 3.5 metres (11 ft 3 ins) long and standing beside them, Tavia laughed that she never realised she was actually so small.
Sharing her experiences and taking lessons from Julia, Tavia was very surprised when she saw a a piece consisting of a few stitches, but was already the size of a double duvet. She exclaimed: “I have never seen such a big woollen blanket before in my life, it must be very warm.”
